I found my voice as an artist years ago when I abandoned the world of oil and acrylic on canvas to explore the luminosity of liquid color on paper. Watercolor allows me to translate the processes of the natural world into paint; as the water evaporates, it leaves behind a record of its interactions with pigment and paper, echoing the traces water leaves behind in the landscape. These natural abstractions feature layered colors, textures, and shapes combined with explorations of space, light, and shadow. The wonders and mysteries of nature continue to inspire my work.
